The Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN) is set to enforced the collection of all fees and levies from its members in the South West zone of the country.
This was contained in a letter of appointment assigning Prosper Integrated Logistics Limited (PINTELS) as IMAN revenue coordinator for the South West zone.
The letter reads ‘I am pleased to inform you that we have approved the appointment of your company PINTELS ( Prosper Integrated Logistics Ltd as the revenue coordinator for the South West Zone of the country with effect from 1st November, 2018.
By this appointment you are expected to collect all revenues accruing to Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN) from all sources within the South West zone’
According to the classification of the various toll by IMAN to be collected by its agent, a 20ft container and it’s equivalent will pay N2,000, while 40ft and it’s equivalent will pay N5,000.
Trailer’s from borders will pay N10,000 and half body trailers from borders are to pay N5,000.
Others are imported cars from borders or seaports N1000, imported vehicles other than cars from borders or seaports N2,000, bulk cargoes of cement, fish, fertilizer, rice, salt, iron ore,petroleum products etc (vessels 1- 10,000 tons capacity) N10 per ton, while those from 10,001- 20,000 tons capacity will pay N5 per ton and airport cargoes N3 per Kg.
The fees classification was signed by Hon. K.C. Chikezie National Secretary of IMAN.
We also gathered that all freight forwarding bodies except one have all signed authorising IMAN to collect levies from all importers.
