President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointments of Senator John Akpanudoedehe, Senator Binta Garba and other notable Nigerians into the Board of Nigerian Ports Authority(NPA).This is as the former board constituted in 2016 have since been resolved.
The new Board has Chief Akin Ricketts as Chairman, while Muhammed Koko , Prof. Idris Abdulkadir, Onari Brown will serve as Executive Directors.
Other members of the NPA board includes, Ghazali Muhammed, Sen. Mustapha Aminu Dutse and Abdulwahab Adeshina .while Ms Hadiza Bala Usman remains as the Managing Director of the NPA.
The new appointments was contained in a statement signed on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, Sabiu Zakari,.
Also appointed were the Board and the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) made up of Bashir Jamoh as the new Director-General Hon. Okorie Asita Chairman of the board. The Executive Directors are Hon. Victor Ochei (Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services), Chudi Offordile (Administration and Finance) and Shehu Ahmed (Operations).
While , Adekola Adefemi, Muhammad D. Abubakar, and Hassan Rasaq Mahmud will serve as members.
Both boards are to be inaugurated on Friday, March 20, 2020 by the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.
