Come Thursday, November 19, all road leads to Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital for a critical town hall meeting titled “Bayelsa Beyond Oil”.
The event which is organised by the Ijaw Media Forum in collaboration with the Bayelsa State Government is to seek alternative ways of developing the state aside from oil revenue alone.
It will also open a new window of opportunities for investors in both the maritime, oil and gas and allied industries.
In an invitation card issued by one of the leading organiser. a veteran Journalist and President of the Ijaw Media Forum, Elder Asu Beks, the event will be chaired by the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Bashir Jamoh, while the Special Guest of honour is Senator Douye Diri, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State.
The Guest Lecturer at the event is Dr Dakuku Peterside, firmer DG, NIMASA, while the conference moderator is Otunba Kunle Folarin, Chairman, Ports Consultative Council.
The town hall meeting which is first of its kind to be hosted in the state is scheduled to take place on Thursday 19th November, 2020 at the Gracious Event Centre, Bayelsa Palm Road, Azikoro, Bayelsa State. The time is 10 am.
Maritime stakeholders, captain of industries, oil and gas professionals, investors and the media are expected to grace the event.
