The Acting Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mr Mohammed Bello- Koko
in his bid to rejig ports operational efficiency under his regime and in the quest for Nigeria to become the maritime hub in Africa, south of the Sahara, has approved the appointment of three new Port Managers and other Principal Officers.
According to a statement from Olaseni Alakija, General Manager Corporate and Strategic Communications of the NPA release on Friday, the new appointees are Yitnoe Stanley Magaji formerly Technical Assistant Marine and Operations to Managing Director, now appointed the Port Manager Onne Port Complex. While Buba Jibril, formerly Traffic Manager, Lagos Port Complex (LPC) moves to Tin Can Island Port as Port Manager and Ovbude Nelson Uwaifo formerly Traffic Manager, Dangote Jetty, now Port Manager Calabar port.
The erstwhile Port Manager, Tin Can Island Port Engr. Yunusa Ibrahim Anji moves to Corporate Headquarters of the NPA as Assistant General Manager Port Engineering, while Dantsoho M. Abubakar former Port Manager, Onne , now becomes Technical Assistant to Managing Director on Special Duties.
Other appointments include Okaga Charles Bamidele Principal Manager, Traffic who is now the Technical Assistant Marine and Operations to the Managing Director, Leoso Akintunde Oladipo, Principal Manager Trafffic LPC now assumes duty as Traffic Manager Lagos Port Complex, while Aliyu Abubakar Principal Manager Traffic Kirikiri Lighter Terminal takes over as Traffic Manager, Dangote Jetty, Lekki. The statement days all the appointments takes immediate effect.
