FG RE-CONSTITUTES GOVERNING BOARDS OF NPA, NIWA, SHIPPERS’ COUNCIL, OTHERS

The Federal government has rejig the Governing Board of parastatals under the the Federal Ministry of Transportation.

According to a statement from the Ministry, signed by Eric Ojiekwe, Director of Press and Public Relations he said , ” His Excellency, the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari GCFR has approved the re- constitution of the members of the Governing Board of the following parastatals under the purview of the Ministry”.

They are Nigerian Ports Authority, Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), National institute of Transport Technology ( NITT), Maritime Academy of Nigeria, (MAN, Oron) and National
Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

The new Board members of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) are Lawal Sama’ila Abdullahi ( Chairman), Rufai Ahmed Akambi ( Member), Usen Ekong Udoh (Member ), Otunba Oluseyi Oduntan (Member), Violet Oliatan Williams (Member), Mohammed Allamin Kam-Salem (Member) and Hon. Emmanuel Lyambee Jime as Executive Secretary/CEO.

For the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Hon Ejike Njeze is the Chairman of the Board, while
Alhaji Amuda Seriki, Mr. Muhiydeen Sani Awwal, Mr. Paul Eluhaiwe, Hon. Gbenga Elegbele and Sen. Tutare Abubakar will serve as members of the board and Dr. Bayaro S. Farah, Director-General/CEO.

At the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, (MAN, ORON), Rear Admiral Jacob Adekunle Ajani is the Chairman of the board, while Alhaji Abdullah Nurudeen and Larry Odeh will serve as members of the board and Commodore D. E. Effedua as Rector/CEO.

The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has Hon. Binta Masi Garba as Chairman, Chibuike Ikenga as Member, while Chief (Dr) George N. Moghalu remains the Managing Director/CEO.

And in the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Chief Akinwunmi Ricketts returns as Chairman of the Board. Other members are Sen. Ayogu Eze, Ghazali Moh’d, Abdullazeez Nyako, Abdulwahab Adeshina and Mustapha Aminu Dutse. While Ms. Adenrele Susana Adeshina is appointed the new Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Mohammed Bello – Koko remains the Managing Director/CEO

The statement said the inauguration of the new Boards by the Minister of Transportation will be conveyed in due course.
